Charles Murray received a Bachelor of Pedagogy (1906) from Drake University, and a B.S. (1910) and D.V.M. (1912) from Iowa State College (University). Murray was a school superintendent (1896-1908); an Instructor (1908-1912) and Associate Professor (1912-1914) in Bacteriology at Iowa State, and was placed in charge of the Department of Veterinary Research.
