Lattimore family papers, 1842-1986.

This collection consists primarily of materials that belonged to brothers William Lattimore and Harry Hays Lattimore, as well as H. H. Lattimore's son, Ralston Lattimore. A large portion of the collection consists of research notes by Ralston Lattimore concerning Fort Pulaski and Cockspur Island. These notes include a scrapbook of newspaper clippings from the 1930s describing renovations on Fort Pulaski and index cards covering research sources 1735-1936. Also included in the collection are stock share certificates, property documents, and newspaper clippings concerning the Lattimore family, other individuals from Savannah, and Savannah history. The collection is divided into three series: Lattimore family materials; Fort Pulaski and Cockspur Island, Georgia, research materials; and photographs. The photographs series includes seven black-and-white undated photographs. One photograph is an image of the Hunter-Mackay House in Savannah, Georgia. The other photographs are of identified individuals, but it is not known whether these individuals are members of the Lattimore family. Items 2-6 in this series are in the same format and may originally have been part of a group of images. The folder containing photographs is noted as "VM" (visual materials) in the collection inventory.
