Madeline Mashino Roeseler Interview conducted April 23, 2008 in Helena, Mont. In this interview Mrs. Roeseler discusses her birth at Lake Village, Indiana, her family moving to Montana in 1911, homesteading near Lavina, Mont., attending school, knitting and washing clothes for service men during World War I, graduating high school in 1925, attending school in Dillon, Mont. to become a teacher, graduating from Eastern Montana College in 1936, teaching in Laurel, Mont., marrying Lyle Roeseler in 1941, attending world fairs in San Francisco, Seattle, Spokane, and New Orleans, traveling to Israel, and her membership in Eastern Stars and Daughters of the Nile. Madeline Mashino Roeseler was born May 5, 1908 in Lake Village, Indiana to Fred and May Mashino. The family moved to a homestead near Lavina, Mont., in 1911 and lived there before moving into town. After completing high school, Madeline attend Western Montana College in Dillon for one semester and completed her education at Eastern Montana College in 1936.
