Madeline Mashino Roeseler was born May 5, 1908 in Lake Village, Indiana to Fred and May Mashino. The family moved to a homestead near Lavina, Mont., in 1911 and lived there before moving into town. After completing high school, Madeline attend Western Montana College in Dillon for one semester and completed her education at Eastern Montana College in 1936. She taught school in Laurel, Mont. for six years. Madeline married Lyle Roeseler in June 1941. He died of cancer in 1972. Mrs. Roeseler was an active member of the Eastern Stars and the Daughters of Nile. She also was a member of the Women's Club and heavily involved with church work.
