Smelt Money Collection, 1996-2000.

Smelt Money, 1996-1999, was a poetry publication consisting of a single sheet folded twice, and included work by Stephen Ellis, Steve Tills, Andrei Codrescu, Robert Grenier, Ann Erikson, Jim McCrary, Michael Leddy, Gregory Vincent Saint Thomasino, Crag Hill, Sheila E. Murphy, John M. Bennett, Charles Plymell, Spencer Selby, Richard Kostelanetz, Dave Baptiste Chirot, William S. Burroughs, Monica Peck, and others. Collection includes a complete run of Smelt Money (nos. 1-13, 1996-1999), edited by Jim McCrary; correspondence between McCrary and John M. Bennett and Michael Basinski; biographical material on McCrary; an index of the McCrary/Smelt Money archive at SUNY-Buffalo; a poem by McCrary (1st line, "skating in a swamp"); a chapbook by McCrary, Dive, She Said, Lawrence, KS: Hog Oil Press, 2000; a long review of Dive, She Said by S. Hazlett Mitchell; 4 poetry broadsides published by the Lawrence Poets' Alliance, (edited by McCrary), by David Bromige, Steve Tills, John Moritz, and Duncan McNaughton; and 1 broadside text by William S. Burroughs, "A Spiritual Exercise", dated 1997.
