Williams, Dowagiac, March 7, 1940, about Chief Pee-pee-yah, a Potawatomi in Berrien County, who on May 1, 1839 received a land patent which was later stolen by John R. Baker; a letter to Mrs. Emma Pepeyah, Paw Paw (Mich.), Nov. 5, 1925, from the Chief Clerk of the Office of Indian Affairs, C.F. Hawke, concerning Paw Paw land purchased by her husband's grandfather, Chief Pepeyah or Pe-Pe-Yah, in 1839; a typed (1 p.) story about Indian burials and the Indian cemetery in Paw Paw Township by D.P. Smith; and a small black and white photograph of Mrs. Pee-Pa-Ha of Paw Paw (Mich.).
