Julia Klumpkey (1870-1961), violinist and composer, was a native of San Francisco. She attended the New England Conservatory of Music in 1894-1895 and received a diploma in violin performance in 1895. While at NEC, Klumpkey studied violin with Emil Mahr and Hermann Hartmann, and composition with Percy Goetschius.
