Verda Louise Williams was born in 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa. She received a B.A. (1969) in Radio and Television from Drake University and an M.A. (1987) from Iowa State University. From 1981-1997, she was employed as a Communications Specialist with Extension Services, Iowa State University. A filmmaker and producer, Williams wrote and produced (in conjunction with WOI-Television) the 1985 documentary, "Black Des Moines: Voices Seldom Heard." From the description of Papers, 1981-1998....
