On May 17, 1948 Graff writes Frederic E. Voelker of St. Louis, Missouri about his visit to W.T. Hamilton's grave and monument in Columbus, Montana, including a photograph. Voelker responds on June 17 to thank Graff, expressing his interest in Hamilton and relating a rumor that Hamilton is related to mountain man Old Bill Williams (1787-1849).
