Correspondence, 1889-1900, includes letters (11) to Nellie from Asher Van Sickle, her Pa, in Concordia (Kan.). Several letters (6) are from relatives and friends in Kan. and Mich. The letters discuss family news and health, the weather in Kan., and farming. One friend in Carson City discussed her experience at a camp revival meeting and news of who would be teaching at the Carson City school (Aug. 23, 1889). One note is on the stationery of Van Sickle & Reasoner, the family grocery store in Carson City (Mich.). There are letters (3) to Asher Van Sickle from Frank M. Osborn concerning renting and improving the Van Sickle's home and Osborn's candidacy for circuit court commissioner on the Union Silver ticket, 1896; accounts for the house, 1896; and a pencil sketch of the Van Sickle's home (front and back views), undated.
