School penmanship books, 1845 (1 v.) and 1849 (2 v.). The front cover of the 1845 v. is illustrated with a Greenslander (Eskimo) in his canoe (kayak), dated Dec. 13, 1845. Both the front and back covers of the 1849 volumes are illustrated, one with birds and the other with scenes from the Punch and Judy puppet show.
