Records of the Young Men's Republican Committee, Boston, Mass., a continuation of the Young Men's Republican Movement in Massachusetts, 1871-1884. The collection consists of a notebook containing records of meetings and activities, newspapers clippings, amendments, and correspondence; a small record book containing lists of contributions; newspaper clippings concerning a convention of young Republicans at Worcester, Aug. 26, 1878; printed material; and several letters to and from Charles P. Bowditch, between 1880-1884.

Charles Pickering Bowditch (born September 30, 1842; died June 1, 1921), was an early initiator and supporter of Meso and Central American research at the Peabody Museum. His interest in Maya studies was sparked by a pleasure trip to the Yucatan in 1888. Bowditch received both his A.B. (1863) and his M.A. (1866) from Harvard University.
