Fielding Walker photograph, undated.

The collection consists of 8.5" x 11" black and white photocopies of an original photograph of Fielding Walker, including a copy of notes on verso. The photocopies are the only item in this collection. Notes on the verso state that Fielding supposedly served as a personal servant to Gen. Robert E. Lee during the Civil War. No evidence has been found to substantiate this theory.

Robert Edward Lee (1807-1870) served as General of the Confederate Army in the U.S. Civil War and was president of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia from 1865 to 1870. Lee spent the first twenty-three years of his military career in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
