There is to be a bonfire that night to celebrate the great victory in Ireland, possibly the battle of the Boyne. The princess [Anne] has arrived and is attended by her chaplain Dr. Younger, Sir Charles Scarburgh and R. and Mrs. Wentworth.

Soldier, courtier, author and antiquary, Sir Roger Twysden made his home at Royden Hall in the county of Kent, England. He collected Greek and Hebrew manuscripts as well as printed books. Upon his death, his collection passed to Sir John Sebright (1767-1846) of Beechwood Park, Hertfordshire, who sold the main portion at auction through Leigh and Sotheby on 6 April 1807.
