Boston Braves Scrapbook : scrapbook, 1931-1932.

A collection of newspaper clippings relating to the Boston Braves. This scrapbook was presented to Maranville "In admiration of 20 years valuable service to baseball". Articles include trip to Japan in 1931, owners' meeting notes from December 1931, averages, standings and leaders throughout 1932. One article states that shinguards may be abolished for catchers. A few articles covering the 1932 World Series.

Walter Rabbit Maranville compensated for his lack of size with an overabundance of spunk and determination. Over his 23-year Major League career, spent exclusively in the National League, the wide-ranging Maranville accumulated a record 5,133 putouts and developed a reputation for his eye-popping basket catches.
