John Wallace Winborne photographic collection, 1900-1960s.

The collection includes photographs of John Wallace Winborne's student days at Horner Military Academy in Oxford, N.C.; the Bingham School in Asheville, N.C.; and the University of North Carolina, including photographs depicting sports, chiefly football and baseball. Also included are group or composite photographs of the North Carolina Supreme Court between 1937 and 1961; an autographed photograph of North Carolina Governor J. Melville Broughton; a photograph of a marker on Mount Mitchell, N.C.; and a photographic album containing portraits of the 1906 senior class at the University of North Carolina.

Joseph Melville Broughton Jr. (1888–1949) was the 60th Governor of North Carolina from 1941 to 1945.
