The papers of Susanne Henning de Charette and her parents, grandparents and other relatives. The records discuss her marriage to Marqis Charles-Antoine (Tony) de Charette against the will of her mother, her life in France, their role in World War I in France and her role in the World War II in New York. The collection also includes letters and business papers of Susanne's father, James W. Henning, which particularly deal with his business failures in 1907 and in 1911. Other important correspondence includes that of Sue Henning, the Marquise's mother and divorced wife of James Henning, Lulie Henning, James's sister, and artist Herbert William Ross.
