Photos of snapshot quality of Rio Grande Southern Railroad trains, trestles, and tracks. Trains include Engine 20, Engine 455, and Galloping Goose 4 which was one of the gasoline powered buses which were converted to travel on the tracks. All of the photos are stamped on the back: "Joseph Schick, Keenesburg, Colo." (Social Security Death Index: Joseph Schick, born 7 February 1895, died March 1966, last residence Keenesburg, Weld County, Colorado.).

Forest Crossen, author of "The Switzerland Trail of America" (published 1962) and the series "Western Yesterdays" (published 1963-1979) moved to Boulder with his family in 1923 and graduated from Boulder High School.
