Gilbert blacksmith shop. 1901-[1919]

Views of the Gilbert blacksmith shop which was opened at 1200 Walnut Street in 1881 by Richard Gilbert. A view taken ca. 1901 shows the shop still carrying the name Richard Gilbert with current owners Edward Gilbert (son of Richard) and John Rumbel posed with their wives Henrietta and Josephine. A later photo shows the shop and adjacent buildings after street lights and benches were provided by the city.
