This scrapbook contains mounted newspaper clippings and greeting cards and notes, relating to the social and community activities of the John M. Patterson family, mostly in Wellington, Colorado. Subjects mentioned include the Twentieth Century Club of Wellington, construction of the Wellington High School in 1926, and social and club news of the town. Also included are marriage notices and obituaries for prominent citizens of Wellington and Boulder, Colorado. The first 28 pages of the scrapbook contain 34 menus for luncheons and dinners served, 1928-1943, at meetings of the Twentieth Century Club, a bridge club in Wellington, Colorado.

Mrs. John M. (Fannie Geraldine Snell) Patterson, compiler of the scrapbook, was a daughter of Boulder County miner James Snell. She worked with the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper for a decade before transferring to the Fort Collins Express (per her wedding notice from the Denver Daily News on 2 December 1903, which contains photos of her and her husband). John Patterson, involved with mining operations in Gilpin County, Colorado, was a civil war veteran and Colorado pioneer. ...
