The Spokane Stock Exchange was founded in 1897 and functioned for more than two decades as a sort of gentlemen's club of brokers. From time to time, the exchange virtually ceased operations. In 1897, the Spokane Stock Exchange was founded as a sort of gentlemen's club of brokers. One of the members of this Exchange was Paul L. Sandberg, the president of Standard Securities Corporation.
