Correspondence, dated Feb. 26, 1902, from W.S. Jones, Commissioner, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) in Washington, D.C. to George McConnelley and Co., Northwestern Tribune (a newspaper), Mount Pleasant (Mich.) about his Feb. 11, 1902 letter questioning the amount of acreage in the Isabella Indian Reservation. According to Jones, the reservation originally consisted of 98,586 acreas held in common by the Tribe. In 1902 2,373 acres were held in common while 96,213 acres were held individually by 1,934 Indians.
