The Bovee University Center was named for Norval C. Bovee (1917-1970). As Vice President of Business and Finance for CMU, 1956-1970, he was responsible for preparing and controlling CMU's budget. Bovee earned degrees from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan. He was active in many local area organizations. Bovee was survived by his wife and two children. Maybee was a history professor at CMU. The Clarke Historical Library has several of his publications and his papers. The Advisory Committee developed plans for major events, publications, re-dedications of campus buildings, presentations, and a historical marker for CMU's 75th Anniversary. The Awards Screening Committee reviewed nominations of people who had contributed significantly in some way to CMU, selected honorees, and organized a presentation ceremony and plaque for each honoree.
