Edward H. Garnett papers, 1942-1943.

The collection contains over 90 letters written by Edward Garnett to Arlea Newman while Mr. Garnett was training in the Army Air Corp in San Antonio, Texas and Vernon, Texas. The letters discuss the couple's marriage plans and Mr. Garnett's daily routine while in training. The letters date from October 1942 to March 1943, when Ms. Newman joins Mr. Garnett in Texas.

Edward H. Garnett joined the Army Air Corp in October, 1942 and was sent to San Antonio, Texas for training. In 1943, he was transferred to Victory Field outside of Vernon, Texas.
