The Christian Social Ministries Department Collection (1965-1990) contains the files of four administrative staff: Clovis A. Brantley (Associate Secretary, 1971-1977), Mildred Blankenship (Assistant Director, 1966-1989), Mary Kuhnle (Director, Sellers Baptist Home and Adoption Center, (1976-1991), and Gerry Hutchinson (Manager, Church and Community Ministries Department, 1990-1995). Most of the material is correspondence with some articles, clippings, pamphlets, and reports. Topics covered in the correspondence relate to the programs administered by the Department including: Baptist centers, disaster relief, literacy missions, juvenile rehabilitation, migrant missions, domestic hunger, ministry with single persons, alcohol and drug abusers, Sellers Baptist Home and Adoption Center, church and community ministries, criminal justice system, and blind ministry and handicapped persons.
