Scope: Recordings, primarily defending Frederick Cook's claims to having been the discoverer of the North Pole and the first to reach the top of Mount McKinley; and, defending Cook against charges of mail fraud in the Petroleum Producers Association stock issue, for which he was tried and convicted. Also includes an excerpt of a Gabriel Heater radio program of Dec. 16, 1937, a Mary Margaret McBride radio program from 1951, and a radio program from Toms River, Nova Scotia of April 15, 1972. Voices include Frederick Albert Cook; Lilian Kiel, stenographer for Hampton's magazine; Milton M. Lory, journalist; David "Bud" Olson; Robert E. Peary, explorer; Frederick Pohl, writer; Helen Cook Vetter, Cook's daughter; and H.C. Waale. Reverse side of Gabriel Heater disc contains a statement by William Henry Griffeth describing how he invented pink lemonade.
