Notes and letters, primarily carbon copy typescripts, concern circumstances of Channing, in old age residing with Sanborn, and Channing's reference to visits with Hawthorne in Salem (1847) and Concord (1864); visit to N.H. White Mountains (1836-1837); similarity of Hawthorne and Marston Watson; Dr. Peabody in old age; respect for Elizabeth Peabody; walks with Emerson and Thoreau to 'Sanguinetto' or Spanish Brook, Baker Farm, Conantum, and Walden Pond; Walden Pond's water level; the Biblical testaments. (Cont.) Town Library book and Byron, Goethe, Emerson, and Shelley; Theodore Parker (his relatives, literary executor, grave and memorial stone in Florence designed by William Wetmore Story); Mystery of Shakespeare; and notes in Channing's copies of Walden and the 'Week' (Thoreau's hut after its removal from Walden Pond site and picnic sites at Pond after the railroad, 1866).
