Principally completed original artwork published by Houghton Mifflin, Albert Whitman & Company, etc.; included are charcoal sketches, pencil sketches, pen and ink drawings, and color illustrations for Chang Chee (1939), Manuela's Birthday in Old Mexico (1939), Gregorio and the White Llama (1944), Patty Paints a Picture (1946), Rogue Reynard (1947), Watchdog (1948), Horse on a Houseboat (1951). There is also a complete dummy for The Best House in the World (1952).

Laura Bannon (1895-1963) was a Chicago painter and children's book illustrator and author. She was born in Acme, Michigan, studied at the Michigan State Normal School (Kalamazoo, now Western Michigan University) and at the Art Institute of Chicago. She also taught at the School of the Art Institute. The first children's book she authored was published in 1939; in all she wrote and/or illustrated over twenty books.
