Family Papers, 1857,1883.

Photocopied papers of Strangite Mormon elders, Chester John Linnell (1839-1907) and John Raymond (1803-1853). Linnell's papers include photocopies of an account book with baptisms, blessings, marriages, and ordinations of Strangite Mormons, 1857-1883. The papers of Raymond include photocopies of genealogical information and an account book, 1876. The originals of Raymond's papers are in the Jackson County, Wisconsin Historical Society, with a copy in the possession of R.R. Linnell. Also included is genealogical information on Strangite Mormons Lorenzo Dow Hickey (1816-1897) who married Sarah Ann Linnell, and Hiram Samuel Linnell (1829-1909).

John Raymond (1803-1853) married Chloey Purnell, who died. He was ordained by James Jesse Strang, and married his second wife Betsey Tyler Linnell Raymond (1806-1894). Chester John Linnell (1839-1907) married Clarissa Nichols in 1856 or 1857. He was the son of Betsy Tyler Linnell and John Linnell and the stepson of John Raymond. Hickey (born on Feb. 15, 1817 in Palmyra, NY and died on April 25, 1897 in Coldwater, MI) was a prominent preacher and leader of the Strangite Mormon Church following the death of James Jesse Strang.
