Ten companies comprised the 12th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia: five from Boston, one from North Bridgewater, one from Abington, one from Weymouth, one from Stoughton, and one from Gloucester. After organization was completed, the regiment was ordered to Fort Warren in Boston Harbor. Army Officer, Attorney, Politician. After locating on a homestead in Douglas County in 1879, Dollard set up a law practice in nearby Scotland in 1880.
