Furniture and industrial designer. Born New York, 1894. Rhode studied art at the Art Students League and the Grand Central School of Art, New York. By 1923, he was a freelance illustrator for department stores such as Abraham & Straus, W & J. Sloane, and Macy's. He opened his own design sudio in New York in 1929.
