Papers, 1934-1992.

Papers include correspondence, medical lecture notes, and genealogical research. Personal and professional correspondence describes Dr. Vann's medical residency in Edinburgh, Scotland (1934), his experiences as an Army Medical Corps officer in Europe during World War II, and his activities and contributions to the medical community, to health and public policy, and to alumni, civic and social activist organizations. Also, his medical writings, reports from Englewood Hospital, photographs, and published newsletters. Papers of Dr. Dorothea D. Vann include: lecture notes on pediatric medicine (1937-1941); correspondence concerning gender discrimination regarding her position and salary at the Edna B. Conklin Child Welfare Home of Bergen County (1970s); early watercolors and gallery press releases; and correspondence, including a letter from E.B. White (1954). Papers of her father, Dr. Richard F. Deimel, include depositions for patent suits (1920s), notes, drafts, and copies of his published writings, and family genealogy.

Dr. Felix H. Vann (b. 1909), an obstetrician/gynecologist from Englewood, N.J. (Bergen County).
