The subseries consists of correspondence of Cason J. Callaway from 1940-1961. The letters pertain to Callaway's agricultural interests particularly the Blue Springs Farms (Hamilton, Harris County, Ga.), the Friends of the Land, and the Soil Conservation Service; his service as director for various corporations including Chemical Corn Exchange Bank and its predecessor Chemical Bank and Trust Company, Shell Oil Company, Trust Company of Georgia, and United States Steel Company; his tenure on the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia; the planning and daily operation of Callaway Gardens; as well as invitations or requests for Callaway to speak at or join numerous organizations. The subseries also contains correspondence (1890-1939) relating to Fuller E. Callaway Sr.'s activities in the textile industry and Cason J. Callaway's entry into his father's business.
