Summary: Collection consists primarily of the papers created and collected by Peter Van Dresser as an advocate of solar energy, the Decentralist Movement and various other issues. Included are papers from the New Mexico State Planning Office (1960-1961); papers from the Penjerdel Region Transportation Study (Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware Metropolitian Project, Inc., 1960-1963), Van Dresser's correspondence (1930-1983), and his manuscripts and publications. He also collected papers that pertained to home crafts and other aspects of economic self reliance, New Mexico land use and planning, the Uplands Project, and the El Rito New Mexico projects. Also included are the personal papers of Peter and Florence Van Dresser which contain property records, family correspondence, and photographs of California places taken by James B. DeKorne and photographs of New Mexico places taken by the New Mexico State Tourist Bureau.
