Account book/scrapbook, 1852, 1865-1883, 1895, and undated. Includes newspaper clippings of candidates nominated by the Democratic, Republican, and the National Greenback parties for state and county offices, 1866, 1876-1883. There are several accounts of ordered lumber, including one for a horse barn, and a newspaper clipping recipe for cough medicine. One section of the volume relates to the formation of the Plainfield Avenue Gravel/Road Company to build a gravel road and extend a bridge from Grand Rapids to Plainfield. This lists names of share subscribers, their city of residence and number of shares. Personal accounts, 1852, 1895, and undated include name and amount of money due/paid and sometimes the date.

Richardson 1/15/1836-2/15/1897 was a pioneer farmer and school board member and inspector of Plainfield Township. He married Margaret M. Young (d.1911) in 1863. They had two children. He is noted as building this gravel road and operating it as a toll road to Grand Rapids until it became a state road in 1892.
