Summary: Collection consists of a 1752 petition by Father Juan Miguel Menchero to Governor Tomas Velez Cachupin of New Mexico; Cachupin's response; photocopies of both documents; English and Spanish typescripts of both documents; and letters pertaining to their translation into English in 1968. Menchero's petition is for assistance in the construction of the Mission of Our Lady of Sorrows and Saint Anthony at Sandia Pueblo. Cachupin agrees to this request in his response.
