List of Indian Lands (Isabella County, Mich.), 1883.

List of Indian lands selected and names of Ojibwa Indians of the Saginaw, Swan Creek, and Black Rivers (Tribe), entitled to an allotment re: Treaty of Oct. 18, 1864. There are three separate lists prepared and forwarded on Oct. 5, 1883, Sept. 25, 1885, and Nov. 4, 1891 by Edward P. Allen, U.S. Indian Agent, Mackinac Indian Agency. The lists were copied from the original records in the Register of Deeds Office, Isabella County (Mich.) and certified by Elisha B. Reynolds, U.S. Special (Indian) Agent. The 1891 list includes a certifying note from T.J. Morgan, Commissioner, Dept. of the Interior, Office of Indian Affairs. Each list includes: allotment number, name, (in English or spelled phonetically), sex, age, subdivision, section, town, range, acres, 100ths, and remarks (Note: "not competent" means iliterate).
