Isaac Sharpless. Educator, born in Chester Co., Penn., graduated from Harvard in 1873 and received a Sc. D from the University of Pennsylvania in 1883. He rose from instructor in mathematics to Professor of Mathematics and Astronomy and Dean and President (1887-1917) at Haverford College. He resigned to become Dean of T.
