Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 20, 1920, Thomas A. Clark was appointed by President Jimmy Carter as a United States Circuit Judge for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on November 2, 1979, and entered service on November 16, 1979. In 1980, Congress divided the Fifth Circuit, and since October 1, 1981, Judge Clark has served on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He took senior status on August 31, 1991.
