June 16, 1808, letter from Baptiste Piquette, probably a fur trader, to Samuel Abbott (later Michilimackinac collector of customs, village president, magistrate, notary public, and American Fur Company agent), requesting that the twenty-three pounds of shillings Abbott owes him be repaid in unrefined silver, lynx skins, or muskrat skins.
