African American photograph collection, 1918-1951.

This collection assembled by Historical Collections and Labor Archives includes a small selection of black and white photographs. The photographs include a small group of African American laborers in 1951 at Pennsylvania State College, an unidentified African American graduate student in mortarboard, Allentown, Pennsylvania, and negatives of a group of African American women steel workers. Another small grouping consists of a photograph of Daniel Murray, Librarian of the Congressional Library, addressed to his "friend Henry P. Slaughter, 1918;" portraits of James O. Holmes, Washington, D.C.; a portrait of W.E.B. DuBois, educator/author; and a group photograph of W.E.B. DuBois, W. Johnson, and one other unidentified African-American gentleman.
