Papers of Fannie Bailey King, 1924-1939.

Records, 1924-1927, of the Augusta County Council, include their minutes and correspondence, as well as newspaper clippings regarding the Council's meetings. Correspondents include the Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station, the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company, and the Staunton-Augusta County Chamber of Commerce. Transcripts, notes and a clipping, 1912-1939, regarding the colonial and Revolutionary War history of Augusta County, Va., include a typescript supplement to the Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish settlement in Virginia, transcripts from John Hastings Gwathmey's Historical register of Virginians in the Revolution and William Armstrong Crozier's Virginia colonial militia, 1651-1776, and reprints from the William and Mary Quarterly. A letter, 21 May 1937, from Nell Marion Nugent, Richmond, Va., to King, regards an 18th-century land patent.
