Includes extensive research files, manuscripts, correspondence, publicity, files related to his writing and publishing, newspaper columns & publications written by Mr. Rolfsrud. There are also numerous biographical files on North Dakotans, supporting material for his published works, and copies of some of his publications. Included are the unpublished manuscripts of "Shattered Shackles," a novel written in the 1930s; and "Pipes for Praise," the history of the church organ. Also includes family Christmas newsletters, fan mail, material related to Concordia College of Moorhead, Minn., 40 cassettes of interviews, and material for his Reminiscence Writing course and courses on KFME educational television.

Born at Watford City, N.D., son of Nils and Rebecca (Heide) Rolfsrud. Attended Minot State College, taught in rural schools, graduated from Concordia College in 1936. Wed Beverly Brown in 1941. Employed at North Dakota Education Association, and wrote a column "Top Drawer" for its Journal, North Dakota Teacher. Began teaching at Concordia College, leaving in 1946. Worked as freelance writer until 1957 when he began teaching at Alexandria, Minn. From the description of Papers, 1948-19...
