Coleman, Eliza Jane Coleman, Cornelia Coleman, and Isaac Winston, concerning family affairs and social life in Virginia, Baptist church affairs, particularly of Massaponax Church (Spotsylvania County), opportunities and land in Kansas and Iowa, and the economic ruin of a family member. Also include accounts, receipts, and tax records, 1816-1905, chiefly of Robert Coleman and John P. Coleman, with inventories of taxable property; papers, 1836-1841, pertaining to settlement of Edmund Terrell's estate; deeds, 1801-1869, for land in Orange and Spotsylvania counties, Va.; insurance policies, 1858-1876; and petition, 1878, for pension for a widow of a War of 1812 veteran. Also include mercantile arithmetic book, 1811, with added accounts, 1829-1831, for an Orange County, Va., hotel; plantation account book, ca. 1857-1873, kept by Herndon Frazer; and plantation journal, ca. 1879-1882, of Huldah Frazer Coleman, including freedman's accounts, and tobacco, wheat, and corn accounts.
