Committee records, 1977-1978.

This series contains the committee records from 1977 to 1978 of the various committees established by the Constitution Revision Commission. These committees considered the issues raised at the public meetings and presented proposals to the Commission for inclusion in the revised Constitution. The records include agenda, minutes, copies of distributed materials, memoranda, correspondence, reports, and lists of committees' memberships. Audiotapes of the committee meetings are located in Series 1417.

The 1968 Constitution contains a continuous revision clause providing for the revision of the Constitution within the first ten years after approval, and a revision every twenty years thereafter (Article XI, Section 2). The Constitution specifies a thirty-seven member commission be selected to prepare revisions.
