Enoch George Adams, son of John and Sarah Sanderson Adams, attended Yale and served as a private, sergeant, and second lieutenant in Company D, Second Regiment, New Hampshire Volunteers. After the war he moved west, fought in several engagements with the Indians, travelled through the Pacific Northwest, settled for a time in Vancouver, Washington and worked as editor of the Vancouver Register.
