Papers, 1926-1993.

This collection primarily documents Garcia's career as an instructor; however much of her research-related work, in the form of journal articles, is included. The Correspondence series holds a sample of the letters Garcia received or wrote between 1950-1993. Within the Publications series are Garcia's nutritional science publications from 1955 through 1993. The Classroom Materials series contains the notes, lecture diagrams, and overhead transparencies that Garcia used in her classes, and the Photographs series include app. 100 photographs that detail all periods of her life.

Nutritionist and ISU faculty member. Pilar Angeles Garcia earned a B.S.(1949) in Pharmacy from the University of the Philippines at Manila, an M.S. (1950) in Botany from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. (1952) and Ph. D. (1955) in Nutrition from Iowa State University. She was a professor at Iowa State in the Department of Food and Nutrition and is currently a professor emerita of that Department.
