A collection deriving from the files of Firmin Didot, consisting of letters, authors' contracts, rough drafts, memorials and other legal documents, printed prospectuses, newspaper clippings, and notes. The earlier material (1809-1819) relates to the Michaud Biographie; the later material (1845-1861) to the Didot Nouvelle biographie and to the lawsuit between Firmin Didot and the Thoisnier-Desplaces family who published later editions of the Michaud Biographie. A variety of copyright matters were at issue.
