Robert T. Lincoln letter to S.S. McClure, 1896 Jan 2.

Lincoln writes that Mr. H. [sic] U. Johnson, of the Century, is currently in possession of the daguerreotype and that he hopes that Johnson will give McClure the opportunity to have it for a day as he wishes. He concludes, "I had a very pleasant chat with Miss Tarbell and I am sorry that I could not see her longer but I was leaving town the same day for Philadelphia."
