Letters to John Ferrone, 1976-1990.

The collection primarily consists of correspondence from Alice Walker to John Ferrone, in addition to copies of his correspondence to her, from 1976-1990. The correspondence pertains largely to her writings, including THE COLOR PURPLE, HORSES MAKE A LANDSCAPE LOOK MORE BEAUTIFUL, and other short pieces. Also present in the correspondence are typescript drafts of some of these works. The photographs present in this series span the 1980s and are largely of Alice Walker herself.
